Synopsis
To forage for food and medicine is inherently human but today we look no further than the shop or pharmacy for everything we require. For our ancestors, nature was school, kitchen and sanctuary having an answer to every need. The loss of this ancient knowledge has not only negatively impacted our diet, health and wellness but has also distanced us from nature and our culture. We follow a herbalist, doctor, chef, and a foraging teacher as they help their communities to rewild and reconnect with the land. Through relearning about native Irish plants and celebrating the bounty of the hedgerows, seashores and woodlands of Galway they turn our attention towards the Earth, making us think holistically about our health and the wellbeing of the planet.
